NAIOP Spotlight Award Winners – Apollo RedFlint & Sykes Call Center Durango

Burke Construction Group is pleased to announce that our Special Projects Division received two Project Honor Awards – in both the Tenant Improvement (Medium Office Category) for the Sykes Call Center Durango and (Other Category) – for the Apollo RedFlint Project at the 20th annual NAIOP Spotlight Awards on March 4 at Red Rock Resort in Summerlin. The Spotlight Awards is an annual event put on by the association to recognize industry leaders and top commercial real estate projects in several categories.

RedFlint is a 10,355 sq. ft,. flexible and modular event space – fully configurable to meet a wide range of needs. It includes areas for co-working, free Wi-Fi, a concierge desk and meeting spaces. A brand born from the University of Phoenix, RedFlint was adapted to elevate the relationship between technology and business. The first-of-its-kind innovation center, the RedFlint experience center seeks to share technology, ideas, and knowledge with members of the business and entrepreneurial communities. Fostering an open and collaborative environment facilitating the exploration of technology, the center features rotating technological showcases allowing people to try the latest tech for themselves, as well as workshops and courses centered on technology and entrepreneurship. This type of environment is beneficial for startups and helps spark innovation and creative problem-solving.

The two-story 33,150 sq. ft. Windmill Durango building created a unique opportunity for Sykes Enterprises – a company focused on customer solutions in the financial, communications, healthcare, retail, technology, and travel sectors. Looking to expand their call center operations, Sykes needed a building that would expedite training for new employees while allowing operations to go uninterrupted. Leased to solely occupy the first floor of the building, Sykes was able to temporarily occupy the unrented second floor for base operations while the first floor was improved to meet their needs. As a company that works in partnership with different businesses to enhance brand loyalty through customer care and digital marketing, Sykes required maximized space to accommodate a cubicle environment while providing training rooms conducive to current and future employee development.
